JET SKI RENTAL SAFETY INFORMATION

Do not drink and drive.  A person is considered to be under the influence of alcohol if he/she has an alcohol concentration of 0.08% and extreme at 0.15% and higher. Follow all safety stickers on Jet Ski.  

Do not stay out in foul weather (Monsoon) head the bow into the waves at a 90 degree angle and return to the rental office before the storm hits. Remember it is your responsibility to know the boating laws. This watercraft is rented to the above person only.  Any other operator without prior written consent from our company is prohibited. It is illegal to operate a jet ski at speeds greater than are reasonable or proper given the existing waterway traffic, persons in the water and weather conditions. It is also illegal to exceed any posted speed limits or wake speed (3mph) in a no wake zone.

A handbook of Arizona’s boating laws and responsibilities and Jet Ski safety video are at the rental office for review.                                                                                                                                             

IMPORTANT RIDING INSTRUCTIONS:

1.      YOU ARE NOW THE OPERATOR OF A JET SKI.  ALWAYS LOOK IN ALL DIRECTIONS FOR OTHER WATERCRAFT BEFORE TURNING.

2.      KEEP A DISTANCE OF AT LEAST 100 FEET APART FROM OTHER WATERCRAFT.

3.      ALWAYS WEAR A PERSONAL FLOTATION DEVICE (LIFE JACKET).

4.      SECURELY ATTACH LANYARD TO LEFT WRIST. LANYARD MUST BE WORN BY DRIVER AT ALL TIMES.

5.      TURNS CANNOT BE MADE WITHOUT APPLYING THROTTLE.

6.      THERE ARE NO BRAKES ON A PERSONAL WATERCRAFT. THE STOPPING DISTANCE FROM FULL SPEED IS APPROXIMATELY 260-300 FEET.

7.      IF YOU CAPSIZE THE WATERCRAFT, UPRIGHT THE WATERCRAFT FROM THE REAR AND THEN RE-BOARD FROM THE REAR AND RE-ATTACH THE LANYARD (KEY).

8.      DO NOT JUMP BOAT WAKES OR CROSS THE PATH OF ON COMING BOATS. BOATS ON THE RIGHT HAVE THE RIGHT-OF-WAY, Boats without Power have the Right of Way.

9.      BOATING SAFETY AND COURTESY

1.      OVERTAKING: BOTH BOATS SHARE THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR SAFE OPERATION.

2.      MEETING HEAD ON: KEEP TO THE RIGHT.

3.      CROSSING: BOAT ON THE RIGHT HAS THE RIGHT-OF-WAY. SLOW DOWN AND PERMIT OTHER WATERCRAFT TO PASS.
